Jobanshi is a sound artist from Tokyo, Japan. His 5th full length album, Chill Out, consists at once of minimalist drone meditations, bustling rhythmic field recordings, warmth and discord, recalling the seminal ambient works of Aphex Twin and Stars of the Lid. Mechanical gestures gently move the listener as if along a conveyor belt through sprawling factory rooms that teem with blossoming overgrowth, while ghosts of automatons, tending to the machinery, systematically move and chatter.
